Actis, a pan-emerging market investor, has opened a new permanent office in New York City, which is its third office in the Americas and 13th globally.

Adiba Ighodaro, Partner and Head of Actis’ New York office, said: “From our new permanent home in New York, the Actis team will strengthen and develop relationships with our growing number of investors across the Americas. As a leading investor in emerging markets, we look forward to continuing to access for our investors compelling investment opportunities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.”

The new office will allow Actis to further deepen the breadth and strength of its partnerships across the Americas, as the firm looks ahead to its next stage of growth.

Actis is a multi-asset pan-emerging markets investor, with a growing portfolio of investments across Asia, Africa and Latin America and $7.6bn in funds under management.

Actis’ team of approximately 100 investment professionals in 12 countries identify investment opportunities in private equity, energy and real estate, building on a 65-plus-year heritage and proven track record.

From offices across multiple cities - Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Cairo, Beijing, Mumbai, Johannesburg, London, Nairobi, Lagos, Singapore, Delhi and Mauritius - the Actis team currently oversees investments in approximately 70 companies.

The firm has a proven, focused investment strategy, investing across six sectors (consumer, energy, financial services, healthcare, industrials and real estate) in response to two trends: rising domestic consumption driven by the rapid expansion of the new consumer class, and the need for sustained investment in domestic infrastructure.

The New York office is located at 140 Broadway, Suite 2250, New York, 10005.
