Africa Merchant Capital (AMC), an independently owned corporate finance advisory firm with a dedicated focus on the high growth private markets of Sub-Saharan Africa, has appointed Milko Skoro as Managing Director for AMC Advisory and AMC Infrastructure.

Skoro brings 20 years of African transaction experience and knowledge of the Sub-Saharan Africa private capital markets.

In the Africa Merchant Capital Group, he will head up AMC Advisory, offering a range of Corporate Finance services centred around growth and acquisition capital, and AMC Infrastructure, which focuses on developing and owning long-term assets.

Skoro is a seasoned investment professional with buy-side and sells-side experience, from managing Africa focused Private Equity funds to advising private equity companies and corporate clients on both acquisitions and disposals.

With responsibility for the leadership and continued development of the AMC Advisory business alongside the founding directors, Jan van den Berg and Cobus Visagie, Skoro will play a key role in meeting the company's aggressive growth goals, as well as building on the firm's well-established reputation for advisory services to clients and Africa focussed principal investors.

Cobus Visagie, AMC Group CEO, said: “Milko’s track record, African experience, and contacts in the profession are top drawer and we are thrilled to have him on board. Attracting someone of Milko’s calibre into the business is a great endorsement of our strategy and ambition. He brings with him incredibly strong knowledge and experience which will be vital as we continue our ambitious plans to grow and develop Africa Merchant Capital as a leading merchant bank in Africa.”

Skoro added: "I am excited to join the Africa Merchant Capital Group and to present AMC Advisory and AMC Infrastructure to the market.  The knowledge, experience and network accumulated in AMC Advisory, and the broader AMC Group, places AMC Advisory in a desirable position to be able to provide deep-rooted Corporate Finance services to our clients. In addition, the creation of AMC Infrastructure as a permanent capital vehicle will generate new opportunities for partnership and collaboration on the continent.”
