Deloitte Africa has announced that four senior appointments have been made to the leadership of the firm to strengthen the company’s presence in the key West and East Africa regions.

Lwazi Bam, CEO of Deloitte Africa, said the new appointees were all highly experienced executives who would bring particular skills to executive management.

All appointments are effective from June 1, 2016.

The new appointees are: Sihlalo Jordan, Deputy CEO of Deloitte Africa; Mike Jarvis, Chief Operating Officer of Deloitte Africa; Fatai Folarin, CEO of Deloitte Nigeria and Regional Leader for Deloitte West Africa region; and Joe Eshun, Deputy CEO of Deloitte East Africa region.

Jordan has been the Chief Strategy Officer for the African firm and Financial Services Team business unit leader since 2012.

He was appointed a member of the Deloitte Global Board since June 2015 and serves on its Governance and Risk Committees.

In his new role, Jordan will work alongside Bam to drive Deloitte Africa’s impact and growth on the continent.

Jarvis has been a partner since 1996 and was appointed Africa Chief Financial Officer in June 2014.

As the CFO, Jarvis has introduced significant efficiencies and numerous operational improvements that are enabling Deloitte to service its clients seamlessly across the African continent.

He holds accountability for the finances and operations of the African firm, which includes ensuring that the Deloitte systems and processes are world-class.

Folarin has been the Deputy CEO for Deloitte Nigeria.

With this appointment, Folarin also joins the Deloitte Africa Executive.

Folarin, who has 26 years of experience in the profession, has a reputation as being one of the foremost tax consultants in West Africa.

He has advised and created strong working relationships with leading international, regional and Nigeria-based companies.

Eshun moves to his new position after spending 15 years with Deloitte in East Africa where he has primarily provided solutions to international lending agencies operating across East Africa and several clients in the Public and Financial Services Sectors.

Eshun is also the Chief Strategy Officer and Clients & Industries Leader for the region.

“The changes taking place in Deloitte Africa will ensure that we are well placed to deliver value to clients across the private and public sectors. All appointees are accomplished leaders who are best placed to make certain that Deloitte Africa takes advantage of the opportunities that arise on the continent, delivers on its commitment to make an impact that matters to its clients, people and communities. I congratulate them on their achievements to date, and look forward to working with them in their new roles,” commented Bam.
