Mark is an accomplished and entrepreneurial C-suite executive with a passion for businesses undergoing rapid or disruptive change. Mark’s adaptability and resourcefulness is evident from the disparate industries and geographies in which he has been successful, the common thread being an ability to bring clarity and focus to complex, urgent and ambiguous situations, whether turnarounds, start-ups or re- invigorations.

At an advisory level, Mark is independent investment advisor to private equity fund, Agri-Vie.

Mark has provided investment, organisational and strategic advice to a wide range of businesses in the UK, Europe, Turkey, Switzerland, and Africa, including large corporates, private equity investors, development financial institutions, and private businesses and entrepreneurs. Mark is a CIPC-licensed Senior Business Rescue Practitioner.

With over 14 years’ experience, Heleen heads up the RisCura team who provides independent valuations for clients across all alternative asset classes such as (but not limited to) Private Equity, Infrastructure and Private Debt. In this role, she provides assurance to investors in alternative assets and alternative asset funds that their assets are priced correctly. This ensures that clients receive accurate reporting and assessment of returns on investments, which in turn allows them to manage their investments more effectively. She joined RisCura in 2012 and has performed and reviewed over 150 valuations since then. She previously worked as a corporate finance partner at PKF Inc.

Dean joined AIIM in 2013, working across transactions and asset management. Dean transitioned to the role of Chief Operating Officer, where he is responsible for the finance, compliance and governance functions as well as providing technical support to the investment professionals from deal origination to transaction execution and asset management.

Dean is a Director on the Board of the 3 South African toll road concessionaires; namely Bakwena, N3TC and TRAC. He is also a Director for Apollo Advisors as well as various GP fund and investment holding entities.

Prior to joining AIIM, Dean was employed at Nedbank Capital where he progressed from the roles of project manager and inter-creditor on road, rail and energy infrastructure projects, to transactor in structuring limited recourse infrastructure projects. Dean was intricately involved in the refinancing of the Bakwena toll road, and as a result, was appointed as the CFO of Bakwena in 2009. In this capacity, he was responsible for overseeing the company’s financing requirements, board, shareholder and lender interactions, together with risk and compliance areas. Dean was subsequently appointed as CFO of FibreCo Telecommunications in 2012, where he was responsible for the finance function, together with the raising of funding for the company’s network expansion.

Dean qualified as a CA(SA) at KPMG South Africa, initially in the consumer markets sector and subsequently as senior manager in the financial services sector, which included a two-year secondment to KPMG London.

Yusuf is responsible for a portfolio of projects, analysis and software development, and technology support. He is passionate about strategy, innovation, data transformation and change management. As an ambassador for effectivity and efficiency through a systems thinking approach, his focus areas are data-driven investment management and system optimisation enabled by governance, agile frameworks and business intelligence technologies.

Yusuf holds a PGD Project Man, PGD in Bus Analysis and MBA completing a dissertation on The Application of Project Portfolio Management in Asset Management. He has also hosted a talk at the Shanghai International School of Business with the topic of Sustainable Business in South Africa.

With 13 years of financial services and asset management experience, Yusuf joined Futuregrowth in 2015. Prior to joining Futuregrowth, Yusuf held the role of Manager at State-Street Global Services EMEA and APAC region. He was responsible for providing middle office solutions to a host of asset managers globally, specialising in custody services, pricing and valuation, fund accounting and FX systems.
