Actis, a growth markets investor, has appointed Virginia Doble to the newly created role of Head of EMEA of the Investor Development Group (IDG).

Doble will report to Neil Brown, partner and global head of the IDG, and will be based in London.

She joins from UK lower mid-market private equity firm, Sovereign Capital, where she led their investor relations and fundraising for more than ten years.

Prior to Sovereign Capital, she held senior roles across the investor relations and communications functions at British Steel and Virgin Media.

Commenting on her appointment, Doble said: "I was attracted to the impressive breadth and scale of the Actis platform as well as the meaningful and genuine impact of Actis' investments in their chosen markets.”

“I look forward to working with the team to continue promoting the culture of transparent communications and the cultivation of relationships which are both so deeply embedded in Actis.”

Doble will be focused on fundraising and investor relations activities for investors across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Neil Brown, Partner at Actis, said: “Virginia brings tremendous experience to the firm paired with an extensive network of relationships and a deep understanding of private markets. We are thrilled to have her on board during a time of significant growth for Actis.”
