Interactive Data, a global provider of managed ultra-low latency technology and market data feed services designed to facilitate electronic trading, has partnered with GlobalRisk, a provider of real-time risk management and trade support software.

The partnership is an effort to empower large, multinational brokerage firms, hedge funds, FCMs, clearing firms and exchanges to increase visibility into trading activity, enhance front, middle and back office decision-making and minimize risk exposure.

Emmanuel Doe, President of Interactive Data's trading solutions business, said: "To maintain a competitive edge, firms must be able to acquire global and aggregated content from a large number of sources, trading venues and asset classes, coupled with a complete service which is turn-key to manage their risk.”

“After listening to our clients’ needs, we were able to combine our high-quality market data feeds with GlobalRisk's risk management software to deliver powerful data analytics and provide breadth and depth of coverage to GlobalRisk’s risk management solution,” he said.

GlobalRisk's FirmRisk brings in Interactive Data's streaming, real-time or delayed equities, futures and options pricing feeds from Interactive Data’s Consolidated Feed.

It performs stress tests on the data, provides powerful real-time analysis and calculates intraday risk exposure on trading data to increase business intelligence and enhance decision-making.

This is designed to allow firms to better understand risk exposure on an account or product basis and trading cost and revenue.

Curt Wichmann, VP of operations, business development at GlobalRisk, said: "The regulatory focus on risk management in the equities, futures and options industry has demonstrated a need for a reliable, real-time view of trading risk exposure.”

"Since 2008, we have seen a dramatic increase in business driven by risk management, and our relationship with Interactive Data has allowed us to provide the most up-to-date data available to service our clients," he said.
